Let Us Not Grow Weary!
By Guest Watchman Toney Ackman
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:9-10)
One of the most thankless jobs in the military during times of peace is the job of the sentry. No one takes notice of them when there is not much on the line. During times of combat, however, all that changes. It is the sentry’s job to be the first line of defense for those sleeping. To be the first to see the enemy coming and make ready to defend. It is also the sentry’s job to wake all to an impending attack so they can be ready too.
Such is the case with those who are appointed Watchmen. God has gifted those of us who are called to be Watchmen to be able to see and discern, the times we are in. We see that there is an attack of the enemy coming, and it is our job to rouse everyone from their slumber. The Watchmen cannot lose heart if we do many are doomed. We cannot grow weary in doing that which our Lord has called us to because we are the first line of defense in these last days.
The enemy wants us to join the slumber, to grow weary in sounding the alarm. Being called to be a Watchman is a gift of the Spirit, and we must use this gift to awaken all, especially those of the household of the faith because the enemy is at the gate. Now is the time to be ready.
Lord fill me with Your Spirit and give me the strength to endure as Your appointed Watchman until we are safely in Your arms.
