God is a Morning Person

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I will hope in Him.'” (Lamentations 3:22-24)

King David was a morning person, referring to morning repeatedly in his 70 psalms. David saw the sunrise from the palace, in a serene pasture, and less-desirable places – hiding in a cave, or on a battlefield.

Watchmen value morning because it offers something they cannot replicate – Light. Can a Watchman operate effectively in the darkness? Yes, it’s one of the job requirements. However, any security guard or night watchman will tell you, they’d prefer to see what’s out there. What’s out there can be dangerous, deadly, evil. In the darkness, morning seems distant, but morning will come.

In business, morning is the ground floor of a fantastic investment opportunity. In agriculture, morning reveals growth and harvest. For women in labor, the morning means a newborn in her arms and the end of pains.

Watchmen value the renewal morning offers each day and the opportunity to tell the dying world there is hope and life and an eternal future in Heaven.

God demonstrates His creativity, His mercy, His loving kindness, and His faithfulness every morning. God is a Morning Person.

God, this morning as we met I could sense Your enthusiasm as we both face a world who needs You. Today more will find Your love and trust You. Today Your mercy will redeem another soul. Remind me each morning that You are faithful still, Your mercy didn’t expire overnight.
